Park City Pedestrian Tunnel Repair
Location: Park City, UT
Client: Park City Municipal
Duration: June 2025 - Present
Cal Wadsworth Construction was selected by Park City Municipal to perform critical repairs on the pedestrian tunnel under SR-248 near Park City High School. The project addresses a failed snowmelt system installed during the original construction and is essential to ensuring the tunnel’s long-term functionality and safety.
The scope of work includes the removal of the existing snowmelt system and the installation of a new radiant heat system, which will be encased in a fresh concrete surface. These improvements will provide a snow-free path during winter months and restore reliable year-round access between the high school campus and nearby neighborhoods.
Due to the nature of the work, the tunnel will remain closed throughout the summer. In the interim, a pedestrian-activated HAWK signal has been installed to provide a safe alternative crossing for students, families, and community members.
Construction is scheduled for completion before the start of the new school year, with a strong focus on public safety, quality craftsmanship, and long-term performance.
